  • Where should I level? (Beginner's guide)

    Intro

There are a lot of things you can do in game. This guide focusses on where you can level. It is possible to do so by questing or killing field or champ mobs, but you would level much faster if you kill dungeon mobs. You might not be able to handle that solo and you could party up with others. Whole chat can be very helpful in finding others to party with. You have to be lvl 20+ in order to use that. If you are for example looking for a dungeon party as a lvl 30 cleric, you would type this into chat "LFDP lvl 30 cleric". You will get used to the abbreviations used soon enough, but I added a link under the useful links section.

You will get free items for each 10 levels you do. This is part of Project 150. You can get a bonus to your XP or a penalty to your XP and drops based on the level difference between you and the mob. I added a table at the bottom of this post. Every dungeon has a minimum level requirement you need in order to enter.

From level 30+ you can go to an instanced dungeon called Vulcanus. This dungeon scales as you level and there is also a daily quest you can do up till 149. Rewards include SS, Impact Amplifiers and Deva's Blessings.

Hello and thank you for the guide.

Now, seems to me for someone who wants to level from 150 to 160 the options are limited between PW and Cube, for the fastest leveling. Assuming someone can solo in both dungeons, which one would be the most efficient to level in while using a stamina saver or growth potion?

Do PW bosses give enough Exp to compensate the time lost moving from one boss to the other and lack of in-between killing? Since you can't skip bosses and go directly to the Witch, if thats the boss which grants the most exp??

Same question for cube, the fastest Exp gain would be killing mobs in every room or skipping and killing only Haksa - Askah - Butkadah for the most efficient Exp gain while on SS and growth potion?

If you'd say Exp is relative to how fast you kill, then on average, do you think killing 4 Butkadahs without skipping or 8-10 Butkadahs when skipping per hour would be better for Exp than 4 Witches per hour?

    Thanks in advance.

Oh, I forgot to ask, do both version PW bosses grant the same Exp? If I recall correctly, the daily quest PW instance includes lower level bosses than the fake investigation version. Thanks again!

You are able to enter PW at 150, but this dungeon is not very kind to them. A 150 would get 1 xp per kill starting with takin and every boss after that because of the level difference. -40 for Takin up to DT (lvl 190) and -50 for the Witch (lvl 200). A 150 doing the daily quest would gain 125% of the xp on Takin to DT (lvl 160) and 150% on Witch (iirc lvl 170) so he would definitely get a lot more xp in the daily quest. I am not sure if the base xp is different in the 2 versions, but I would expect so.

As you can see the level differences coupled with the xp bonus / penalty makes a big difference. I am not sure what kind of KS you need to get better xp compared to cube. Since you are limited by the 24 hour passes, cube would seem a better choice.

Skipping mobs in cube and doing only bosses used to be better for XP often. Especially for higher level players. It depended on how fast you cleared rooms compared to how much time you spend running and killing bosses. Because of the lvl dependant xp bonus / penalty a 150 would end up getting a xp penalty (37.5%) from Butkada (lvl 185) and a bonus on a lot of the cubes in the other rooms. Doing boss kills only runs is much less beneficial than it used to be, but I am not sure if / when these will be better for 150s. I expect they will be more useful as you get closer to 160, but that is something that you would have to try for yourself.

Okay I have to give you props then and consider this a proper guide.

Also, I was totally unaware of the dungeon minimum level changes, unless I am mistaken, when they first introduced these limits you had to be at least 80 to get into PP... beyond that I really don't remember what the other levels were.
    To the legend...

Thanks. I do not think those ever changed, but there has been a lot of confusion about the exact limits amongst players.

Im starting anew after a while of playing other games and i find your guide very helpful so ... Thank you very much!!
I have a question to the main quest line: You advise to wait till lvl 105+... so i start with Red Farm when im lvl 105+ and grind till then?
Because i can remember that those two quest lines Red Farm and Witch Quest 1 get me from lvl 50 to about lvl 98+.

You're welcome and glad it helps Good question and the short answer is yes.

Red farm starts at 50 and Witch Quest 1 used to start at 70. They recently bridged those lines with a quest that sends you straight to the correct WQ1 NPC after finishing Red Farm. I am not sure if they changed the level requirement of WQ1 or if you get 70+ from RF quests. They made several other changes to make leveling easier. One of those is that they gave a big boost to the XP from certain quest lines. Another change is that they made the dungeon mobs up to Palmir Plateau a lot easier to kill.

If you do both RF and WQ1 at 50, you would end up at around 110. The next high xp quest line begins at 120, but getting there would be tough. The much stronger mobs in The Sanctuary might be too challenging, the xp in Palmir Plateau would become increasingly worse as you level closer to 120 and 110+ DP's are pretty much non existent (because almost all other 110+ people would be doing WQ1).

You would have ended up at 120 if you had postponed WQ 1 until 105. Apart from heavily reducing the time spent in Sanct, you would also benefit more from the reduced mob strength in Crystal Valley and Palmir Plateau. It is also more likely that you get an XP bonus for killing higher level mobs in PP and the project 150 pieces & deva's blessing are relatively stronger.
