  • Is there any way to disable double-tap dash?

    Hey there!

Is there any way to disable the double-tap dash feature? It's driving me nuts. I've been looking through all the commands, shortcuts, macros and settings but can't find it.

All suggestions, ideas and possible workarounds are welcome. Thanks in advance!

As far as I know there is no way to disable it.

      Thanks for your reply!

Man, they should really implement a setting for this. I accidentally dash all over the place when I least want it.

I searched for it on google, but didn't find anything specific for C9. Lots of threads with the same question for other games though:

And many, many more. You really would have thought developers caught on by now, and made this a standard option.

Lots of people find this feature very annoying - me included. It's really putting me off.

Anybody got any ideas? Maybe a third party workaround or solution?

Thanks for your reply and suggestion!

I did not try out a single-skill-reset-scroll yet (I'm pretty new to this game). I don't think it will work, since dashing is a default skill that I believe every character starts out with right from the start. Maybe someone tried it and could reply here with more insight.

Yeah, you're probably right - it seems like the original developers are long gone and working on other projects. I guess I'll just have to get used to the double-tap dash feature and press the directional keys extra carefully.

All further ideas and possible workarounds are still welcome!

Probably you are new in all games, not only in c9. Because you saw single problem then complained. Whereas, there are much problems in all of them. An other example, c9 can not go from that to that (feature of automatic walk, character and helper stucking to objects and walking forever at there).

I am remembering from site, about fate of c9, last word of the company was something like "... c9 aged, aproaching to end, this happens to all games, now on, we will do our best ...".

            indeed.

I was just playing before maintenance, and accidentally dashed WHILE USING A SKILL. The skill and cooldown got triggered, but the skill didn't do any damage because it got cancelled by the dash. This is SO ANNOYING. It's even worse than I thought because I now learned that dashing can cancel skills while they still trigger their cooldowns.

How do you higher level players deal with this? I've been trying all morning to play extra carefully without accidentally triggering the double-tap dash feature, but it still happens WAY too often, especially when I'm walking diagonally and then forwards.

I also found out you can stop certain skills from being triggered by action commands (tiny lock icon in the skill menu), but not the dash skill. Major bummer.

            Cool game otherwise.

              BLASTED!

I made an AutoHotKey script preventing the directional keys from being pressed in quick succession. It worked well, sorta ... for about 20 seconds. Then the game crashed with XIGN giving me a suspicious program detected error. I guess XIGN doesn't like AHK.

This is just stupid - I'm constantly dashing all over the place, often right into boobytraps while cancelling my skills at the same time. How do other people deal with it?

I'm thinking of uninstalling because of this, since it's ruining my fun. I just want to fight enemies instead of the controls. So obnoxious, what a shame. Was prepared to spend quite some money on this game too.

Players asked to add an option to disable it years ago (i think 2012), but it's still there. I guess, they see no problem.

If you are continuously pressing and releasing the direction keys to walk, do not this, press and hold the up key or the w key to walk a while, then release it.

Or, may be a key had remained pressed in keyboard, it causes this type problems, mine is doing this, time to time, because it's old.

By me, c9 is for adults, mu is for childs. Try the mu.

Yeah, I'll just have to learn to be more patient I guess. I press too fast because I want to reposition myself constantly - shouldn't do that.

Nah, my keyboard is okay, it's not a hardware problem.

                    I don't like Mu, but I do like C9.

I remember i did the same often in the beginning, a little later i simply learned the movement. Not really hard.

Yesyes, I know how to play a video game. The issue is being unable to disable the double-tap dash feature. I know how to use a keyboard and a mouse, and I already saw all the tutorials.

Many of my other games also have a double-tap dash feature, but I could always disable it in those. This is the first game I play where I can't.
